The process

Here is the process for some of my work: It starts with an idea. Often that comes from something that strikes me when I am outside in nature. The image is put on paper. After that I sketch it out on fabric and apply wax (in layers depending on the colors involved). I generally hand paint smaller designs and add additional wax and additional paint as needed. After that I dye the fabric, dry, and remove the wax. Then, of course, on to the sewing :-)
